Building online presence: Responsive web design
Introduction
As a newbie UI designer, my first ever project involved creating a responsive website for a logistics company.
Just starting out, I dove right in without having UX research to guide me , but let's say it was like diving into a deep end of a pool - I learned fast and I learned a lot.
This opportunity sparked my curiosity and motivated me to explore user-centered design and research methods more thoroughly later on.

OVERVIEW
Challenge
The client sought to establish a strong online presence in the competitive logistics industry, which meant to deliver a solution that not only met their requirements but also resonated with their target audience.
The lack of prior research required frequent collaboration with the client and iterative feedback to ensure alignment with their vision.
Goal
The goal was to craft a user-friendly platform that effectively showcases their services and attracts potential customers in the competitive logistics industry.
Understanding Client Needs
I engaged closely with the client to gather insights into their business objectives, target audience, and desired functionalities for the website.
APPROACH
Industry research:

-
To prepare, I started from existing logistics company websites with analyzing industry trends, best practices, to gain insights into design conventions, user expectations, and effective approaches to showcasing logistics services online.
UX design:

-
Relying on the insights gathered during the research phase, I crafted wireframes and user flows that prioritized simplicity and functionality.
UI design:

-
With solid foundation in place, I moved on to creating a visually appealing interface incorporating the client's branding elements to establish a consistent identity.
Development support:

-
Partnering with the developer, I supported the implementation of the designs by creating resources such as style guides and feature behaviour documentation. Continuous feedback loops ensured
cohesive integration of design elements and minimizing the need for extensive testing.
Responsive Design
Mobile screens were designed to ensure optimal user experiences across all devices. Additionally, it would positively impact search engine rankings, as search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their algorithms.
Conversion-driven design
To encourage conversions, I prioritized clear and simple user flows and prominent calls-to-action (CTAs) throughout the website. Whether users needed to request quotes or contact customer support, I ensured that these actions were easily accessible and encouraged at every opportunity.
PROTOTYPE
The high-fidelity prototype was created to provide a lifelike preview of the website's appearance and functionality.
This helps make sure everyone's on the same page about how the website will look and work, making it easier for the client to visualize and the developer to understand, so the final product matches the vision.
